Handmade in Peru, these wonderful little scenes are known as retablos. They are a popular form of folk art in Central and South America and they often depict religious themes and scenes of traditional life. This version shows a bakery scene with skeletons or calaveras, a common style in Latin America that is most frequently seen around the Day of The Dead festival.
