Sterling Silver Pentagram Pendant
A 'pentacle' within a circle is a Pentagram.
The Pentagram has a history as a apotropaic symbol, that is, a symbol meant to ward off evil influences, especially in European folk magic.
As Pagans ( in its most basic form ) it symbolises Earth, Air, Fire, Water & self.
When a pentacle is turned downward ( Inverted ) it tends to symbolize a focus on self and human nature, i.e - the downward pentacle may be used by someone wanting to focus their energies on earthly related things, such as finances, and very base personal goals.
Satanists use the downward pentacle but usually with a goat’s head overlaid upon it. This symbolizes independence, personal power, sexuality, and accomplishing one’s own will.
The distinction of “right” and “wrong” side up pentagrams continues to this day among various Western esotericists, and some modern Neo-Pagans.
Size - approx same size as a 50p piece.
