The use of sage is for cleansing and healing, the smoke is used to bless, cleanse and heal the person or object that is being smudged. Sage is used to 'clean off' the outside world when one enters ceremony or other sacred space, or to use on objects to clear other peoples energy from them, dedicating it to be yours. These sticks are made from one of the true sages - Salvia Apiana (White Sage).
